How Ads are Reviewed in AdWords

If you’ve just created a new ad, you’re probably eager to get it in front of potential customers.

We work hard to get your ads up and running fast, but first they have to go through a review process to make sure they’re safe and appropriate.

We review your ads, keywords, landing pages, and mobile apps to make sure they meet our advertising policies.

Whenever you create or edit an ad, it automatically gets sent to us for a review.

So how long does this process usually take? We work hard to get your ads online as quickly as possible, so most ads are reviewed within one business day, and some even within a few hours!

Some ads take longer to review because they’re more complex. If your ads are under review for more than one business day, please be patient! To be fair to other advertisers, we review ads in the order we receive them.

To check if your ad has been reviewed yet, go to your ads tab and look at the status column. Next to each ad you’ll see the current status.

If you want to learn more about each status, click through to the AdWords Help Center.

During the review, your ad’s status will say “eligible” or “under review.” Eligible ads might start showing in Google search results right away, but ‘under review’ ads won’t show until they’re reviewed and approved.

If you created or edited your ad more than 1 business day ago and it’s still labeled “Under review” or “Eligible,” feel free to fill in this form to check on your review.

If your ad is shown as “disapproved,” it doesn’t meet our policy requirements. To see more details about why it’s disapproved,

1.Click the Columns button in the toolbar above the statistics table.

2.Click Customize columns.

3.In the “Attributes” section, click Add next to “Policy details.”

4.Click Apply

Here you’ll see the name of the policy that you violated.

And keep in mind that we also review paused ads, so you can create and pause your ads a few days before you want them to run. That way they can be reviewed ahead of time and ready to go when you need them!

And that’s the ad review process.
