Is Linking Out Good for SEO?

We get asked a lot about different tips and tricks people hear that may help their site rank.

One of them is does linking to another site really help your ranking?

If your link helps add value to the user – yes, it can help your SEO. This could be to help the user with a resource for more information.

Linking out where it doesn’t add value to the user really does not help your SEO. Maybe another business asks you for a reciprocal link.

The purpose of most of our client sites is to generate new leads. So linking out to another site just for the sake of doing it is not good for SEO or for your business.

It can take a lot of effort to earn traffic so sending them away from your site, unnecessarily, does not make sense.
