Automatic Bidding with AdWords

Wondering which AdWords bidding strategy is the best choice for you? Not sure how much to bid? If you’re a new advertiser – or just don’t have a lot of time to manage your bids manually – then automatic bidding is a great option for you.

Automatic bidding is the simplest bidding method because Adwords does the work of managing your bids for you!

With automatic bidding, AdWords adjusts your bid for each ad auction to get you the most clicks, while staying within your average daily budget.

Automatic bidding isn’t compatible with mobile app campaigns, or campaigns that use ad scheduling, but it’s a great choice to help keep your other campaigns competitive and save you valuable time.

It’s simple to start using automatic bidding. Want to follow along in your account? Click the Try it Now button to start.

Just go to the Settings tab of the campaign you want and scroll down to the Bid strategy section.

Click the Edit link and choose the option to let AdWords set your bids to help maximize clicks within your target budget.

If it’s important for your business to control the cost of individual clicks on your ad, it’s a good idea to enter a CPC bid limit.

This will give you more control over the cost of each click, but it can also result in a lower ad position or fewer clicks.

For these reasons, we recommend most users don’t set a CPC bid limit.

When you’re ready, click Save.

Now AdWords will set bids to get you as many clicks as possible while spending the budget you specified.
